Perspective and Voice
This comprehensive four-week unit, 'Myths, Legends, and Identity: Reimagining Voice', is designed for a composite Year 7/8 English class, focusing on the rich tapestry of traditional narratives and their connection to cultural and personal identity. Students will embark on a journey through Australian Aboriginal Dreaming stories, local legends, and selected international myths, analysing their structural features, themes, and the values they represent. The unit culminates in students reimagining a myth or legend, giving it a contemporary 'voice' and exploring how narratives can be adapted to new contexts and audiences.
